NOVEMBER 2007 HIGHLIGHTS

Highlights for the month of November as wintering species such as duck are now arriving in greater numbers.


1 st - White Stork ( roost of at least 30 birds ), Water Pipit, Penduline Tit at Marais du Vigueirat.

2 nd - Slavonian Grebe at Etang de Vaccares, Common Crane at Etang du Fangassier, White Stork, Red Kite at Entressen dump.

5 th - Wallcreeper (pair), Blue Rock Thrush, Serin at Les Baux.

7 th - Ruff, Willow Warbler, Calandra Lark at Mas d'Agon, Golden Plover at Etang de Vaccares.

8 th - Woodlark, Blue Rock Thrush, Wallcreeper (pair), Goshawk at Les Baux.

9 th - Booted Eagle ( pale morph), Water Pipit, Dartford Warbler, Ruff at Marais du Vigueirat.

12 th - Crested Tit, Firecrest at Bois de Fontvieille.

13 th - Bittern, Dartford Warbler at Etang de Scamandre.

14 th - Long tailed Duck, Greylag Goose, Grey Plover, Little Stint, Dunlin at Etang du Fangassier, Penduline Tit, Marsh Tit at La Capeliere.

15 th - Knot, Dunlin at Etang de Malagroy.
19 th - White Stork, Bearded Tit ( family of 5 birds), Penduline Tit, Dartford Warbler at La Capeliere.

20 th - Tundra (Bewick's) Swan (11 adults, 1 juv), Spoonbill, Spotted Redshank, Black tailed Godwit at Salin de Badon.

22 nd - Green backed Heron ( 2nd for France, wintering for 2nd year), Water Pipit, Dartford Warbler at Etang de Berre.

23 rd - White Stork, Red breasted Merganser, Caspian Gull, Bearded Tit at Etang de Vaccares.

27th - Bittern, Ortolan (1st winter) at Mas d' Agon, Great Spotted Eagle (3cy), Bonelli's Eagle (juv), Lanner (feldeggi) at L' Amphise.

28 th - Water Pipit, Dartford Warbler, Green Sandpiper at Marais du Vigueirat.
